The battle for RB2 is heating up as the pre-draft process hits its final stage. While Jeremiah Love remains the clear frontrunner, three prospects—Emmett Johnson, Mike Washington Jr., and Jonah Coleman—are locked in a "neck-and-neck" struggle for the second spot on our board. This episode revisits the film to see who truly separates themselves when the traits are stacked back-to-back.

Vision and Patience

Mike Washington Jr. earns the top mark in this category with an 8 for patience and a high-level ability to lure defenders in to play the leverage game. Emmett Johnson displays "creative" vision that initially graded as an 8, but a deeper second look reveals more reliance on raw athleticism than advanced processing, leading to a slight drop to a 7. Jonah Coleman rounds out the group with a 6.5 for vision and a 7.5 for patience; he is a disciplined "coach’s back" who follows his blocks and hits the designed hole hard but offers less creativity than his peers.

Elusiveness and Tackle Breaking

The traits flip significantly when looking at how these backs handle contact. Emmett Johnson is the elite elusive threat with a grade of 9, utilizing an "explosive" jump cut to force missed tackles, though his tackle-breaking remains a 6 due to his smaller frame. Conversely, Jonah Coleman is a pure power back—grading at an 8 for tackle breaking but only a 4 for elusiveness—who frequently seeks out contact to "lower the boom". Mike Washington Jr. offers a balanced profile with a 7 for tackle breaking and a 6 for elusiveness, capable of both stringing together powerful cuts and running through defenders.

Speed and Athleticism

Mike Washington Jr. separated himself as the clear athletic standout, delivering a "star" performance at the combine by running a 4.33 at over 220 pounds. While all three prospects are clustered in the same tier of the "Recliner Rating" metric, Washington's rare combination of size and top-end speed gives him a distinct ceiling that the more "volatile" Johnson and the contact-heavy Coleman lack.

The Verdict

These three prospects remain in a single tier as "good but not great" prospects. Mike Washington Jr. currently leads on traits and athleticism, but draft capital and landing spot will be the ultimate tie-breakers for the RB2 spot
