Dynasty Superflex QB Rankings: Comparing Our Top 24 Quarterbacks I CouchScouts Podcast Ep. 144

Quarterback remains the foundation of dynasty Superflex leagues, but the market isn't always pricing the position correctly. Drake Maye has entered the elite tier, Justin Herbert looks ready for another jump, and veterans like Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold may be significantly cheaper than their fantasy production suggests.

The biggest debate in our top 24: How much should dynasty managers pay for youth when proven quarterbacks are still producing QB1 numbers?

Drake Maye Has Entered the Elite Dynasty QB Tier

Both rankings agreed at the top:

Josh Allen QB1. Drake Maye QB2.

Allen remains the safest combination of passing production and elite rushing upside in fantasy football.

But Maye has closed the gap.

His rushing ability already creates a strong fantasy floor, and the addition of a legitimate outside weapon gives New England's offense another dimension. The film has consistently shown arm talent, mobility and the ability to create outside structure.

At this point, Maye isn't simply an ascending young quarterback. He's a foundational Superflex asset.

The first major disagreement came with Lamar Jackson and Jayden Daniels. Rupert preferred Daniels at QB3, while Jackson landed at QB3 for Jackson because of the proven production and slightly more stable outlook.

Either way, both remain firmly inside the elite tier.

Justin Herbert Is a Dynasty Buy

Both hosts ranked Justin Herbert QB5, ahead of his QB7 consensus price.

That's a player we're willing to bet on.

Herbert already has elite arm talent, but the excitement comes from what the offense could become. More aggressive offensive concepts combined with Ladd McConkey and an improved supporting cast give Herbert a path toward another high-end fantasy season.

He also brings more rushing value than he sometimes gets credit for.

If the market still views Herbert closer to QB7 than the elite tier, there's an opportunity to buy before that gap potentially disappears.

Patrick Mahomes Is Still Too Cheap

Patrick Mahomes came in at QB7 for both CouchScouts rankings compared to QB10 consensus.

That discount doesn't make much sense.

Even Mahomes' perceived “down” seasons have produced usable QB1 numbers, and he was back near the top of the position on a per-game basis before his injury last season.

The dynasty community naturally gravitates toward younger quarterbacks. But Mahomes isn't an aging stopgap—he's still one of the best quarterbacks in football with plenty of career runway remaining.

QB10 pricing creates a buying opportunity.

Caleb Williams and Jackson Dart: Make Them Prove It

Youth creates value insulation, but it can also create inflated dynasty prices.

Consensus has Caleb Williams around QB4-QB5, while our rankings placed him at QB8 and QB9.

The talent and situation give Williams the ceiling to eventually justify that price. Another year in the offense could push him firmly into the elite tier.

We simply want to see it consistently first.

The same argument applies to Jackson Dart, who carries a consensus QB8 price but landed at QB10 and QB14 in our rankings.

Dart showed exciting rushing upside and plenty of talent as a rookie, but we're hesitant to move him ahead of quarterbacks who have produced at a high level for multiple seasons.

Dynasty upside matters. Proven production still matters too.

Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield Are Veteran Values

The biggest ranking gap of the episode belonged to Sam Darnold.

Rupert ranked him QB12 compared to QB23 consensus, while Jackson had him at QB20.

Darnold has already produced near QB1 levels and remains attached to an offense with weapons that complement his ability to attack downfield. Even if QB12 feels aggressive, QB23 looks too low.

Then there's Baker Mayfield.

Rupert ranked him QB13. Jackson had him QB14. Consensus? QB19.

Mayfield's recent finishes have already shown he can provide QB1 production, yet dynasty managers continue discounting him because he's over 30.

For contenders, that's exactly the type of inefficiency to attack.

Mayfield doesn't need his dynasty value to rise. He just needs to keep outproducing what you paid for him.

Bryce Young Is One of the Biggest Dynasty Wild Cards

One of the boldest rankings was Bryce Young at QB16 compared to QB25 consensus.

The case comes down to supporting cast and progression.

Young finally has a stronger group of weapons around him, including Tetairoa McMillan, and his play has improved as Carolina has upgraded the offense.

The problem is consistency.

When Young is playing well, he flashes legitimate franchise-quarterback ability. When things unravel, the floor drops quickly.

That makes him one of the more volatile QB2 bets—but also a player whose dynasty value could rise significantly with a strong season.

The QB19-24 Tier Is All About Upside and Uncertainty

The back end of the rankings included players like:

Fernando MendozaCam WardTyler ShoughDaniel JonesKyler MurrayJared Goff

These players offer very different dynasty profiles.

Mendoza is the young pocket passer we're betting can become a steady QB2. Ward gets a boost from an improving supporting cast but still needs to prove it. Shough flashed enough as a rookie to warrant another look, especially with additional weapons around him.

Daniel Jones may be the most interesting value.

Before his injury, Jones was producing QB1 numbers. Ranking him around QB24 means you're paying QB3 prices for someone who could potentially give you high-end QB2 production if he returns to form.

Final Dynasty Takeaway

The quarterback market shows how aggressively dynasty managers value youth.

Sometimes that's justified.

But passing on Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield or Sam Darnold simply because another quarterback is younger can mean paying more for less production.
