Dynasty Superflex TE Rankings: Comparing Our Top 12 Tight Ends I CouchScouts Podcast Ep. 147

The dynasty tight end position finally has real depth, but Brock Bowers vs. Trey McBride at TE1 is much closer than consensus suggests. Further down the rankings, Tucker Kraft, Harold Fannin Jr. and Kyle Pitts create some of the best buy/sell debates at the position heading into 2026.

The biggest takeaway: elite tight ends create a major weekly advantage, but situation and target share matter just as much as raw talent.

Brock Bowers vs. Trey McBride Is a True 1A/1B

Brock Bowers was TE1 for two of the three rankings and remains the consensus TE1, but Trey McBride earned the top spot for Skip.

And it's easy to understand why.

McBride has now stacked multiple dominant seasons and continues to command massive target volume regardless of quarterback or offensive changes. Bowers has the age advantage and an incredible rookie season on his résumé, but injuries slowed him last year.

For dynasty, we're comfortable treating them as the same tier.

Bowers offers slightly more long-term insulation. McBride offers the more proven production profile right now.

Colston Loveland Gets the Edge Over Tyler Warren

All three rankings agreed on Colston Loveland at TE3 and Tyler Warren at TE4.

Warren provides a strong weekly floor because of his ability to earn easy touches and create after the catch. Loveland, however, brings more downfield ability and a higher receiving ceiling.

That showed late in his rookie season and into the playoffs.

The biggest question with Loveland is target competition in Chicago. Warren may have a clearer path toward functioning as Indianapolis' top receiving option.

Still, when choosing between two young tight ends with strong draft capital, we're willing to bet on Loveland's ceiling.

Tucker Kraft vs. Harold Fannin Jr. Is One of the Best Dynasty Debates

This was one of the biggest disagreements in the top 12.

Rupert ranked Harold Fannin Jr. TE5, while Matt and Skip preferred Tucker Kraft.

Fannin's argument starts with age. He produced immediately as a very young rookie and quickly took control of Cleveland's tight end role.

The concern is what happens next.

Cleveland added more receiving competition, the quarterback situation remains uncertain and the coaching staff that helped create such a tight end-friendly environment has changed.

Kraft has his own concern coming off an ACL injury, but his pre-injury film was difficult to ignore. He had established himself as arguably Jordan Love's most trustworthy receiving weapon and brings the athleticism to create explosive plays after the catch.

If healthy, Kraft has a realistic path toward becoming a top-five fantasy tight end.

Dynasty lean: Kraft for ceiling, Fannin for age and value insulation.

Sam LaPorta Has More Risk Than His Name Value Suggests

Sam LaPorta landed between TE6 and TE7 in the rankings.

That's a significant change from where his dynasty value sat following his rookie season.

The talent isn't necessarily the concern. The bigger issues are his back injury and his place in Detroit's target hierarchy.

With Amon-Ra St. Brown and other offensive weapons demanding touches, LaPorta may only be the third or fourth option in the passing game.

His rookie season showed the ceiling.

But dynasty managers also need to recognize when a player's situation makes reaching that ceiling increasingly difficult.

Is Kyle Pitts Finally a Dynasty Buy?

Yes, we're talking ourselves back into Kyle Pitts.

Matt ranked Pitts TE8, ahead of Kenyon Sadiq, while the other rankings had Pitts at TE9.

The biggest reason is Kevin Stefanski.

Stefanski's offenses have consistently featured tight ends, and Atlanta has relatively little established receiving competition behind Drake London. Pitts also finished last season with a major increase in playing time and targets.

From Week 13 forward, he regularly saw eight-plus opportunities and flashed the production dynasty managers have been waiting years to see.

The risk hasn't disappeared. Another disappointing season could finally destroy what remains of his dynasty value.

But Pitts is still only 26, and the combination of scheme, opportunity and proven athletic ability makes him an intriguing post-hype target.

George Kittle Is Still Worth Buying for Contenders

The bottom of the top 12 included Oronde Gadsden II, George Kittle and Jake Ferguson in different orders.

Kittle is easily the best player of the group when healthy.

The concern is obvious: he's approaching 33 and recovering from an Achilles injury.

For rebuilding teams, that's enough reason to stay away. For contenders, it's different.

If Kittle returns anywhere close to his previous form, he can still provide a positional advantage that younger tight ends in this range may never reach.

Ferguson offers the safer weekly profile but could remain the third option behind CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Gadsden has youth and upside, but increased competition in the Chargers' tight end room creates significant uncertainty.

For a contender, we'd rather chase Kittle's difference-making ceiling than simply collect a younger TE2.

Final Dynasty Takeaway

The dynasty tight end landscape is healthier than it has been in years.

Brock Bowers and Trey McBride form the elite tier.Colston Loveland and Tyler Warren headline the next wave.Tucker Kraft and Harold Fannin Jr. offer breakout upside.Kyle Pitts may finally have the environment fantasy managers have been waiting for.

And that depth matters.

Dynasty managers no longer have to choose between paying an enormous price for one elite option or completely punting the position.

But the core scouting rule remains the same: find athletic tight ends who can become one of the top two receiving options in their offense. That's where the real fantasy difference-makers come from.
