Le'Veon Moss: The Best Power Back in 2026? 2026 NFL Draft Scouting Report |

  • Feb 24
  • 2 min read

Le'Veon Moss is a battering ram of a running back who punishes defenders, but a devastating injury history and zero receiving upside make his fantasy projection incredibly murky. Is this Texas A&M product a future touchdown-dependent thumper, or will his physical, upright running style ultimately keep him off the field?

Vision & Patience

Moss is a no-nonsense, north-south runner who efficiently hugs the hip of his linemen to find creases. He shows excellent patience in the backfield, earning a 7.5 out of 10 grade from our scouts for both vision and patience. However, his second-level vision can sometimes falter, occasionally leading him directly into defenders who have outside leverage.

Power & Contact Balance

This is where Moss truly shines, earning elite grades (between 8 and 9) for contact balance, pad level, and power. He consistently pushes piles, is a beast in short-yardage situations, and often requires gang-tackling to bring down. While he completely lacks lateral elusiveness (earning a 5 out of 10), his pure physicality allowed him to generate an impressive top-39% mark of 3.47 yards after contact per attempt in 2025. He breaks tackles with sheer force rather than making defenders miss in space.

Receiving Ineptitude & Pass Protection

If you're looking for a PPR asset, look elsewhere. Moss caught only two passes in 2025 and managed a staggering 0.05 yards per route run. He never saw a target 10-plus yards downfield in his career and suffers from a ninth-worst 17% career drop rate (five drops on 37 career targets). While he flashed some potential stonewalling rushers on tape, his career pass-blocking grade is an abysmal 24 out of 100 over just 51 career snaps.

The Verdict

Moss's "Recliner Rating" sits between a 66.23 and 69.9, positioning him as a borderline backup with starter upside based strictly on film. However, his extensive injury history—never playing more than nine games in a season—and lack of receiving skills likely relegate him to a late Day 3 pick or UDFA. He will need to carve out a role as an early-down thumper on a high-powered offense to return any fantasy value as a touchdown-dependent RB2
