RELEASE/ROUTE RUNNING
Lance operates with a limited route tree consisting primarily of vertical stems, curls, and comebacks. He flashes sharp slant routes, though often against defenders playing off coverage. He shows remarkable hip fluidity that hints at high-end potential, but refinement is still needed. He can win against press with his feet alone, but he will have to incorporate more hand usage against NFL-level competition to consistently beat press at the line.
PHYSICALITY
Lance is solid in physicality but lacks effective hand fighting against press coverage. He does not impose his will at the catch point, though he uses subtle push-offs to create a sliver of separation when needed. He is not a physical runner with the ball in his hands and rarely breaks tackles after contact.
YARDS AFTER CATCH
Lance’s athleticism allows him to turn routine screens into house calls. He displays solid vision and the ability to cut back across the grain for big plays. However, he lacks the elusiveness and physicality to consistently break tackles in the open field, so most of his YAC production comes from outrunning angles rather than creating on his own.

ATHLETICISM
Athleticism is Lance’s clear calling card. He is a legitimate elite-level athlete. His burst and acceleration erase cushions in a hurry, and his long speed is shocking, making him an immediate deep threat from day one in the NFL. Combined with fluid hips, he also shows good quickness in short areas.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Lance possesses all the physical tools to develop into a starter at the next level, but he will require significant route refinement and improvement in his ball skills to reach his full potential and compete against higher levels of competition. He is a nice upside swing at the end of the 2nd round and 3rd rounds in rookie drafts.
BALL SKILLS
Lance’s ball skills are average at best. He frequently lets the ball get into his body, which limits his catch radius and effectiveness on contested throws. While he secures catches reliably, he will need to become more consistent at extending and plucking the ball away from his frame at the next level. His elite ball tracking on deep passes stands out, as he routinely adjusts his route mid-flight to get under throws.

IDEAL TEAM FITS

The best fit for Lance is on a team with a vertical passing attack that can use his athleticism while he refines some of the issues with route running.
