Recliner Rating:

RELEASE/ROUTE RUNNING

Roberts struggles to create separation at the release and at the stem of his routes due to well below-average quickness and burst. He is a smooth strider once he reaches full speed and can win on simple posts or crossing routes, but he projects as a player who will have difficulty creating consistent separation at the NFL level across all three levels of the field.

PHYSICALITY

Roberts is a big-bodied receiver who uses his size effectively, fighting through defensive pass interference to make tough catches. He also appears to relish run blocking and imposing his will on defenders, which is a clear plus for his profile.

YARDS AFTER CATCH

Despite his athletic limitations, Roberts showed well in yards after the catch. He demonstrated a strong feel for defender positioning and consistently cut back across the field to maximize yardage after the catch.

ATHLETICISM

Roberts is a below-average athlete who particularly lacks the burst and quickness needed to separate at the next level. He is a smooth long strider who takes time to reach top speed.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

He projects more as a special-teams contributor than an offensive weapon, and we would avoid drafting him in rookie drafts.

BALL SKILLS

Roberts possesses solid ball skills and shows a strong ability to concentrate and secure passes through heavy contact or even pass interference.

IDEAL TEAM FITS

While Roberts is not a player that will likely see meaningful minutes, his best path to success is on a team with a shallow receiving core that needs some help on special teams.
