Recliner Rating:

VISION/PATIENCE

Claiborne shows good patience and decent vision, particularly in congested areas at the second level. He effectively reads developing blocks and flows with his line, waiting for creases to open. A standout rep came in a muddy hole where he sucked in pursuing linebackers, then bounced outside the left tackle with excellent second-level vision, navigating traffic for a 26-yard touchdown. Overall his vision at the second level was much better than his vision behind the line of scrimmage.

POWER/CONTACT BALANCE

As a smaller back, he can be affected by arm tackles and direct hits (evidenced by a fumble after a hard shot in the hole). However, he compensates with consistently low pad level, allowing him to win with leverage and power through contact. His contact balance is slightly above average overall showcasing nice plays on film turning direct shots to glancing blows to stay on his feet.

3RD DOWN SKILLSET

He was utilized frequently in the passing game, lining up wide or in the slot. His hands are not the most reliable with 6 drops in 2025, however, he is dangerous once he does catch the ball. He made a tough high grab on a drag route, a nice adjustment on a 10-yard curl, and even a one-handed catch though he had some drops on film. In pass protection, he struggle with consistency with form and has a disadvantage due to his size. His drops are concerning but he showed enough nice catches on tape that leads up to be he could become a viable third-down option.

ATHLETICISM

Claiborne has above-average acceleration and speed that allow him to pull away once he reaches the second level or turns the corner. His ability to defeat angles and stretch plays horizontally stands out on multiple explosive runs. He is very quick in tight spaces and able to make defenders miss.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

He grades out as a flex option for us and we feel comfortable with that range. He has an enticing 3rd down skillset and is efficent in between the tackles as well. However, his size likely limits him from ever being a bellcow and will likely be a nice change of pace option for a team. To us he looks like he could be a sneaky good draft pick in the later rounds of your rookie drafts due to his receiving upside.

ELUSIVENESS

He displays solid elusiveness with good acceleration and speed to the edge. He is quick in tight spaces making defenders miss in the hole. Multiple reps showed him turning the corner after initial contact, defeating pursuit angles, and stretching plays outside for big gains. He is a smaller back and uses his elusiveness to turn tackles into glancing blows.

IDEAL TEAM FITS

Claiborne would fit well in a zone system and with a team that could use a change of pace back with a 3rd down skillset. Backing up Bijan in Stefanski's system seems like an ideal fit.
