RELEASE/ROUTE RUNNING
Lane profiles as a contested-catch specialist rather than a separator. His route running is raw, with limited short-area quickness and inconsistent releases. Lack of physicality leads to struggles against press coverage. He’s more effective on deeper routes, where he can use occasional quick jabs downfield, but he lacks precision in the short-to-intermediate game.
PHYSICALITY
Physicality is a major concern for Lane. He struggles to fight through press coverage and often gets knocked off his route, making clean releases essential for him to get open. Against more physical NFL defensive backs, this limits his ability to separate and creates risk for consistent fantasy production.
YARDS AFTER CATCH
Lane is average after the catch. His limited short-area quickness caps his ability to generate explosive YAC, and while he can be physical with a strong stiff arm, defenders are often already on him at the catch point. As a result, most of his YAC production comes on deep downfield catches, rather than after it.

ATHLETICISM
Lane shows appealing straight-line speed downfield and can explode off the line when he gets a clean release. However, limited change-of-direction ability and short-area quickness hold him back, with a high center of gravity making it difficult for him to sink his hips and separate on sharper routes.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
While there are some areas to Lane's game that are appealing, he remains an incredibly raw prospect. His limited ability as a route runner, and low physicality are going to make it hard for him to excel at the next level.
BALL SKILLS
Ball skills are Lane’s standout trait. While his hands can be inconsistent with occasional bobbles and basket catches, he makes up for it with a huge catch radius, strong body control, and excellent high-point ability. He is someone that wins in contested-catch situations, giving him upside as a red-zone and downfield target.

IDEAL TEAM FITS

Lane's skillset would best be utilized with a team that likes to push the ball downfield, without requiring him to be the Alpha receiver. His ideal fit would be with a team with an established WR1 that will take eyes off of him in press coverage.
