VISION/PATIENCE
It's hard to tell whether Miller is patient, or simply indecisive. He's often too slow to read and react to the defense, missing opportunities. At his best, he sees a lane and makes one sharp cut to get downhill. At his worst, he runs into the back of his offensive linemen. The latter is more frequent.
POWER/CONTACT BALANCE
Miller shows decent speed-to-power conversion, running with excellent pad level and consistently finishing runs. However, despite his leverage, he does not break many tackles. He lacks consistent contact balance and we noticed Miller often getting tackled by the first defender to lay a hand on him.
3RD DOWN SKILLSET
Miller shows soft hands in the receiving game and the ability to extend for poorly thrown balls. While he is not a true weapon as a receiver due to limited open-field elusiveness, he can add a few extra yards after the catch. However, he was a liability in pass protection, frequently missing assignments and allowing defenders a clean path to the quarterback.

ATHLETICISM
Miller’s athleticism is a mixed bag. Once he reaches top speed, he shows adequate long speed to get to the edge and generate chunk plays, though he can occasionally be caught from behind. His main limitation is average burst and acceleration, as he takes too long to reach his top speed.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Miller graded out for us at a 62.80, which puts him in the range of an average backup. That might be generous. Without any notable traits to hang your hat on, it's hard to see the path to fantasy relevance. He should go undrafted.
ELUSIVENESS
While Jam Miller shows some elusiveness behind the line of scrimmage, he is more of a one-trick pony. He relies heavily on a jump cut to gain leverage and force missed tackles. However, once in the open field, he does not consistently string together moves and struggles to create forced missed tackles at the second level.

IDEAL TEAM FITS

Jam Miller would benefit most from a team that utilizes a committee approach. He has the skillset to benefit well in a zone run scheme, where he can utilize his one cut ability without having to be the main back.
