VISION/PATIENCE

Ott shows solid vision and the ability to identify developing holes. He occasionally flashes subtle defensive manipulation to squeeze out extra yardage. However, he often plays with urgency and lacks the necessary patience, frequently rushing into gaps before blocks are fully set.

POWER/CONTACT BALANCE

Ott lacks meaningful power in his game and rarely breaks tackles on film. His pad level is consistently too high, which prevents him from maximizing what power he does have and allows defenders to stand him up at the point of attack. He does occasionally spin out of tackles when he can make it a glancing blow via his elusiveness.

3RD DOWN SKILLSET

Ott showed well as a receiver on simple routes, displaying the ability to secure the catch and occasionally make a defender miss after the catch. However, he struggled significantly in pass protection, often appearing lost with his assignments and failing to locate blitzers.

ATHLETICISM

Ott is a subpar athlete by NFL standards. His build-up speed and burst is adequate, but he will struggle to make NFL defenders miss in space. He had decent curvilinear movement when bouncing runs to the outside, and we did see him defeat a few angles in those situations to get the edge.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Ott graded out at 56.48 on our recliner rating, placing him well into the bench-depth range. While he has solid vision, his lack of athleticism, limited production in recent years, and deficiencies in power and pass protection make it unlikely he will stick on an NFL roster long-term. We do not recommend drafting or owning him in dynasty formats.

ELUSIVENESS

Ott has some decent elusiveness. He possesses a decent double-legged jump cut, with a few instances of spins or dead leg cuts.

IDEAL TEAM FITS

Ott belongs in the Canadian Football League, making this section difficult. I guess if he lands as a late day 3/UDFA in a weak RB room like JCM last year, he could generate enough buzz to have some re-sale value?
