Recliner Rating:

VISION/PATIENCE

Jonah Coleman shows solid but unspectacular vision. He doesn’t consistently manipulate defenders, but he follows his blocks well and displays strong patience behind the line of scrimmage, allowing plays to develop. He is the type of runner who is patient to the hole but explodes through it.

POWER/CONTACT BALANCE

Coleman is a heat-seeking missile that looks to run through defenders and does so at a high level. He maintains a strong pad level, keeps his feet moving through contact, and routinely carries defenders for extra yardage, bringing the punishment to would-be tacklers.

3RD DOWN SKILLSET

Coleman shows he can stay on the field on third down. His strength stands out in pass protection, where he plays with a strong base and active hands, at times overpowering defenders. He offers reliable hands, adjusts well to the football, works effectively with his quarterback as a checkdown option, and transitions smoothly from catch to run after the catch.

ATHLETICISM

Coleman hits the hole decisively, with impressive burst once a lane opens. His long speed is average, but his initial acceleration stands out, especially given his heavy build. He shows powerful one-cut change of direction ability, though he rarely strings multiple cuts together.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Coleman graded out for us at a 73.68, which puts him in the range of a flex option. His combination of ideal size, plus athleticism, and an above-average third-down skillset leads us to believe he could have upside to be a fantasy starter. He is someone that we would draft in the high 2nd of our rookie drafts.

ELUSIVENESS

Coleman is below NFL average in elusiveness, and offers limited shake in the open field. He flashes an occasional spin or jump cut, but is not a one-on-one creator against safeties. He breaks tackles through power rather than agility, often appearing clunky when attempting to string multiple moves together.

IDEAL TEAM FITS

Jonah Coleman would benefit most on a zone run scheme where he could utilize his one cut ability and powerful running style, without having to create much on his own behind the line.
