Recliner Rating:

VISION/PATIENCE

Singleton has very little vision or patience to his game. Once he gets the ball, he is immediately taking off in a direction, oftentimes in the wrong direction. The game often feels too fast for Singleton, and he is much more the build of an athlete playing the running back position than a runner with true feel for the same.

POWER/CONTACT BALANCE

Power and contact balance were a mixed bag for Singleton. When he got up to top speed, he showed good conversion from speed to power. There were also instances of him moving the pile and carrying defenders for extra yards. However, he was held back by his pad level. There are too many times Singleton was almost completely vertical when he was hit, and this caused him to go down easily.

3RD DOWN SKILLSET

Over the course of his career, Singleton showed real improvement as a pass catcher. He has the IQ to improvise and move with his QB in the open field. He showed reliable hands and showed the ability to contort well to balls thrown outside his frame. He is limited, however, as a pass blocker. At times, he looked lost in the backfield. He was rated in the bottom half of the FBS as a pass blocker, according to PFF.

ATHLETICISM

Singleton is an athlete playing the running back position. In a straight line, Singleton is one of the biggest and fastest guys on the field. He hits his top speed quickly, and when the hole is open, he can house a touchdown run from any distance. His biggest limitation, athletically, is his quickness; he’s great in a straight line but not the best lateral mover.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Singleton graded out for us at a 60.61, which puts him in the range of average backup. He is a plus-level athlete, but is severely limited in too many aspects of his game. He is a day three talent that profiles more as a special teams guy. Avoid him in your drafts.

ELUSIVENESS

Singleton is not a running back who is very elusive at all. He was in the bottom 25% in all of FBS in elusiveness rating and only forced 19 missed tackles all season. There was no wiggle to his game. Most of his runs involved him running forward and getting whatever was there. Singleton lacked the ability to get small and angle his body, and this often resulted in defenders hitting him head-on.

IDEAL TEAM FITS

Singleton's game requires that he is drafted to a team that does not need him to be the top back in the offense. The ideal team fit would have Singleton going somewhere with an established starter that lacks juice, especially on 3rd downs.
