Recliner Rating:

RELEASE/ROUTE RUNNING

Delp is a smooth, fluid route runner who flips his hips well and gets in and out of breaks cleanly. He displays a natural feel for working through his routes and creates separation through timing and body control. However, he struggles against physical press coverage, where stronger defenders can disrupt him early in the stem.

YARDS AFTER CATCH

Evidence of impact after the catch is limited. While he possesses good straight-line speed, he lacks the burst and short-area quickness to consistently create extra yardage. He is not particularly physical, which further limits his ability to break tackles and generate YAC.

ATHLETICISM

Delp shows good acceleration off the line and strong straight-line speed for the position. He has the tools of a solid athlete, but those traits do not always translate functionally on tape. There are few examples of him consistently winning with high-end explosiveness, leaping ability, or dominant athletic traits.

BLOCKING

Blocking is a mixed and inconsistent area of his game. He flashes the ability to hold up against defenders at times, but overall he lacks the strength and technique to be a dependable inline blocker. This inconsistency limits his effectiveness as a complete tight end.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Delp profiles as a smooth, reliable receiving tight end with solid hands and route-running ability. However, limitations in physicality, blocking consistency, and functional athleticism cap his ceiling. He projects best as a complementary pass-catching option rather than a true every-down tight end. He doesn't have the profile of someone we would draft but may monitor him on waivers.

BALL SKILLS

Delp offers reliable hands with minimal drops on tape, making him a steady and trustworthy target. He shows good body control, especially on perimeter throws, and adjusts well to the ball in the air. His catch radius is somewhat limited, as he does not consistently extend to attack throws outside his frame.

IDEAL TEAM FITS

Delp will be a developmental tight end and needs to go to a team that uses multiple tight ends. Baltimore comes to mind as a good landing spot.
