Recliner Rating:

RELEASE/ROUTE RUNNING

His route tree remains very limited, with 45% of his career targets coming behind the line of scrimmage. This usage resulted in limited exposure against press coverage and a narrow release package, leading us to grade this area below average. He often rounds his breaks and lacks the nuance, tempo, and sharpness needed to consistently separate against high-level cornerbacks. That said, he does flash promising route-running ability and possesses the quickness and fluid hips to develop meaningfully with proper coaching.

PHYSICALITY

Branch is surprisingly physical for his size. He consistently fights through contact to secure catches and shows the toughness to break tackles once the ball is in his hands, adding valuable yards after contact.

YARDS AFTER CATCH

This is where Branch truly shines and explains why offenses worked so hard to get him the ball in space. He possesses excellent vision to string moves together, plays more physically than his size suggests, and combines that with elite athleticism to turn routine catches into explosive plays and potential touchdowns.

ATHLETICISM

Branch is a phenomenal athlete. He moves with exceptional quickness and fluidity, and his acceleration is elite, allowing him to exploit small creases and turn short gains into touchdowns. Once he reaches the open field, his top-end speed makes him very difficult for defenders to catch from behind.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

He has the physical tools to develop into a dangerous YAC weapon with field-stretching ability. His success will largely depend on landing with a coaching staff that knows how to utilize his skill set and can refine the nuances of his route running. He is a worthwhile late-round flier in rookie drafts.

BALL SKILLS

Branch’s ball skills are sufficient but limited by his smaller stature. He shows good ability to secure catches through contact and demonstrates solid body control on diving grabs. However, his catch radius is restricted due to his height and shorter arms. One technical concern is a tendency to jump for catches unnecessarily, which could create issues at the next level.

IDEAL TEAM FITS

Branch will need to go to a creative offensive coordinator that could scheme designed plays to him. I like the fit with Kubiak in Vegas to design plays for him and use him to stretch the field off of play action.
