Jeremiyah Love Scouting Report: The Next Elite Dynasty RB?

The 2026 rookie class has a presumptive RB1, and his name is Jeremiyah Love. But does the Notre Dame running back rely too heavily on his elite athleticism, or is there a refined runner underneath the highlight-reel plays? In this episode of the CouchScouts podcast, we dissect the film to determine if Love is a generational talent worthy of the 1.01 in your dynasty rookie drafts.

Video Game Athleticism: Burst & Elusiveness

Jeremiyah Love moves differently than everyone else on the field. We charted his athleticism as elite, with one of our scouts awarding a rare 10/10 grade for burst and acceleration, comparing his explosiveness to Adrian Peterson. This isn't just hyperbole; the data backs it up. Love posted a breakaway run rate of 52.9% (14th best in the class) and an elusiveness rating of 123.5 (top 9%).

His open-field ability is headlined by a devastating spin move that we compared to "Madden" or "College Football 25" gameplay. He doesn't just run fast; he possesses the lateral agility to dead-leg defenders or spin out of gang tackles entirely. When Love turns on the jets, he erases angles instantly, making him a constant home-run threat.

Refined Runner: Vision & Patience

Often, athletic freaks struggle with patience, relying solely on speed to win. That is not the case with Love. He earned the top PFF run grade in the class (93.4), a testament to his ability to process blocking schemes. Our film grades reflected this, with scores ranging from 7.5 to 9 for vision and patience.

He displays a Le'Veon Bell-esque ability to stutter-step behind the line, waiting for blocks to develop before exploding through the hole. While there were minor critiques about him occasionally bouncing runs outside when a cutback lane was available, he generally understands leverage and navigates traffic with a maturity rare for a speed back.

The "Swiss Army Knife": Receiving Potential

While his stat line—27 catches for 280 yards—is solid, we believe Love was criminally underused as a receiver at Notre Dame. On tape, he is a true "Level 3" pass catcher: a weapon you can line up in the slot or out wide, not just a check-down option.

We graded his receiving ability at a 9/10, highlighting immense body control and hands. He was seen winning on genuine wide receiver routes, including wheel routes and corner routes, and making acrobatic one-handed catches away from his frame. This versatility draws comparisons to Jahmyr Gibbs or Christian McCaffrey in terms of usage potential at the NFL level.

The Verdict

Jeremiyah Love is a dynamic playmaker who checks nearly every box we look for in a bell-cow back. With a Composite Film Grade of 84.16, he sits at the high end of our "Elite Fantasy Producer" tier. Despite some minor concerns about his power in short-yardage situations, his game-breaking speed and receiving upside make him the clear favorite for the RB1 spot in the 2026 class.
