Recliner Rating:

RELEASE/ROUTE RUNNING

Tyson’s route running is a clear strength. He possesses an excellent release package, effectively combining hand usage with precise footwork to gain early advantages. His delayed release stands out, as he patiently lulls defenders before exploding with impressive burst to create separation. He excels on short and intermediate patterns - particularly quick ins, outs, and slants - while demonstrating strong stem control on deeper routes such as comebacks, posts, and corners. Overall, this is one of the stronger aspects of his game.

PHYSICALITY

Tyson’s physicality was one of our favorite traits on tape. He willingly engages as a run blocker and brings a combative mindset against defensive backs, both at the release point and through hand fighting at the route stem. He plays with an edge that elevates his overall profile.

YARDS AFTER CATCH

Tyson is a legitimate weapon after the catch, frequently schemed touches on screens and drag routes to maximize his opportunities. He does not rely on elite long speed but instead wins with physicality, delivering a devastating stiff arm that consistently puts defenders on the ground and generates additional yardage.

ATHLETICISM

Tyson is a smooth and fluid athlete, particularly impressive given his size. He shows excellent start-stop quickness that translates directly to his route running, especially on short-to-intermediate levels. Downfield, he incorporates subtle nuances at the stem with head fakes and rocker steps to manipulate defenders and maintain separation.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

He has no real holes to his game and can do it all. His YAC ability and ability to get open early should have him see plenty of targets early in his career. He looks to be a top 15 overall player in the NFL draft and we expect him to be a cornerstone for dynasty rosters for years to come.

BALL SKILLS

Tyson displays reliable hands and notable leaping ability, allowing him to adjust to off-target throws and secure difficult passes. He is capable of making diving catches and precise toe-tap sideline grabs. While his contested-catch analytics are not elite, the film suggests this is a strength, as he frequently dealt with inconsistent quarterback play that suppressed his opportunities.
