RELEASE/ROUTE RUNNING
Concepcion is a borderline elite route runner. He combines quick, physical hands to swipe away press attempts with deceptive hand usage and an outstanding release package. Capable of winning both inside and outside, he generates significant separation almost immediately off the line, making him a nightmare for defenders in man coverage.
PHYSICALITY
Concepcion’s physicality was the most pleasant surprise on tape. He excels in hand fighting, displaying impressive strength and timing with swipes and swim moves to defeat physical cornerbacks and maintain route integrity.
YARDS AFTER CATCH
Concepcion is a legitimate YAC weapon, winning with elusiveness, vision, and explosive transitions after the catch. He follows blocks effectively which is a skill he honed with his frequent usage out of the backfield in college. He routinely makes the first defender miss, turning short passes into chunk gains.
ATHLETICISM
Concepcion is an elite athlete who moves differently from most on the field. His incredible burst, short-area quickness, and high-end top speed allow him to take the lid off defenses vertically. He profiles as a likely combine riser whose testing numbers should push his stock even higher.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
ability to get open early and often should translate to consistent targets at the next level. While college drop issues and body-catching tendencies could temper his production initially, the underlying flashes indicate these are coachable flaws. If refined, he has the upside to ascend into the elite fantasy-starter tier.
BALL SKILLS
Concepcion presents a mixed profile in this area. He flashes excellent body control and a high contested-catch rate that is impressive for his size. He also showed the ability to win in traffic holding on to catches while getting sandwiched between defenders. However, a 10.3% drop rate (per PFF) is evident on film, largely due to frequent body catching rather than extending to pluck the ball away from his frame. The flashes in contested situations suggest that refined coaching could address these technical inconsistencies.
IDEAL TEAM FITS
Concepcion is a great all around weapon and would fit right in with an offensive coordinator that likes to attack around the line of scrimmage as well as deep down the field.
